Had the opportunity to lead the design of the first complete ice hockey protective line built for the female anatomy. I approached this work with conviction, bringing both technical rigor and lived perspective to the table.

For generations, women and girls were forced to rely on ill-fitting protection that left them exposed — this became a call to change the standard. I helped drive that shift, turning a long-overlooked problem into a movement toward equipment shaped by real bodies, real needs, and a safer, more inclusive game.

02Market Study

Beyond
hockey.

How other sports, disciplines, and the military have protected the women's chest without compromising range of motion. Mapped to identify what hockey had never solved.

03Ideation

On paper.

Concept directions, form language, and surveyed silhouettes across body types to establish fit parameters.

04Prototyping & Sampling

Made
physical.

Physical samples built and tested against fit criteria — iterating on geometry, coverage zones, and material behaviour across chest profiles.

05Patented Mechanism

Built to
adapt.

One patented system that flexes across dimensions — adapting to bust profile and torso length without adding bulk, regardless of shoulder width.

Patented 3D adjustment system
06Development

The fine
print.

Resolving construction details, tolerances, sizing, and production constraints across five product categories.

07Identity

A line
of its own.

A distinctive identity that sets it apart from traditional men's equipment — balanced to avoid being overly feminine while still embodying hockey performance and style.

08Fit Testing

On real
bodies.

Fit sessions across body types and levels of play — validating adjustability, coverage, and comfort before final production sign-off.

09The Line

The full kit.

Shoulder pads, elbow pads, pants, gloves, and shin guards. The complete FTW lineup — designed for women and girls, commercialized across CCM's retail network.
